PSL 11 – Guess the Teams Name Joining PSL

PCB is considering the addition of two new teams to the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Hyderabad emerging as the leading contenders.

According to reports, the two new franchises will be selected from among these four cities, a development confirmed by PSL CEO Salman Naseer during a recent TV appearance. Other locations, including Skardu, FATA, Gwadar, Lucky Marwat, Bahawalpur, and Sheikhupura, have also been discussed, but the final decision will depend on potential franchise owners.

Sources indicate that the PCB is likely to create two selection pools, with Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Hyderabad expected to be included in the main category.

Among these, Faisalabad’s inclusion appears almost certain, as the city boasts a well-developed Iqbal Stadium and a strong cricket fan base. Its upcoming return to hosting international matches further strengthens its case.

Sialkot also stands as a strong contender due to its powerful business community and investor interest. The city’s entrepreneurs have previously built major infrastructure, including their own airport, and are seen as capable of establishing a franchise and stadium.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad represents Sindh’s best chance for inclusion, ensuring provincial balance within the PSL. Experts argue that adding Hyderabad would prevent the league from becoming Punjab-heavy, as Punjab already hosts the majority of existing teams.

On the other hand, cities such as Gwadar, FATA, Skardu, and Bahawalpur face logistical and financial hurdles, with limited stadium facilities and smaller fan bases.

The PCB is expected to finalize the new team selections soon as part of its expansion plan for PSL Season 11.
