How PSL 11 Road Show in London became Joke?

The Pakistan Cricket Board says it has serious buyers for two new PSL teams, yet still held a roadshow in London and plans another in New York. At the event, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi claimed PSL will become the number one league in the world, but the plan presented focused mainly on concerts at venues, raising doubts about how cricket quality will improve.

Critics also pointed out the poor quality of the promotional material shown to investors, questioning how PSL can aim to be a top global brand with such presentations. Concerns were raised about PSL management as well, including overworked officials and appointments that some believe lack merit or experience.

Observers noted that PCB’s media and marketing efforts remain far behind other boards despite Pakistan’s huge cricket-following population. They argued that PSL has not produced strong new talent in recent seasons, stadium attendance has dropped, and recent editions lacked the impact of earlier years.

PCB press releases celebrating predictable signings like Moeen Ali and Faf du Plessis were also criticized as unnecessary point scoring. Analysts say slogans alone cannot make PSL the number one league. What is missing is a clear, realistic plan to improve cricket quality and rebuild PSL’s competitiveness.
