Matthew Short Withdrawn from PSL 10 Due to Injury
Australian power hitter Matthew Short, who was part of Islamabad United’s squad for this year’s PSL 10, has now been ruled out of the tournament. This is a significant blow for Islamabad United, as the team was relying heavily on him.
Matthew Short suffered an injury while playing against Afghanistan on February 28, and due to this injury, he missed several matches for his national team. Even though he had joined Islamabad United and was all set to play in PSL 10, the team management decided not to risk him due to his fitness concerns. As a result, the franchise has officially ruled him out of the tournament.

This is a major setback for Islamabad United because Short was expected to play a crucial role in the top order. Known for his explosive batting, he was seen as a perfect fit for the batting-friendly pitches of the PSL. His absence could have weakened the team, but thankfully, Islamabad United has continued to perform well, currently relying on Colin Munro and Agha Salman, who are both in good form.
Islamabad United is set to play their fourth match today. It remains to be seen how much they will miss Matthew Short’s presence in the coming games.
