Peshawar Zalmi Collapsed against Quetta Gladiators
Peshawar Zalmi completely collapsed in their very first match against Quetta Gladiators. No player could hold the innings together. The opening pair tried hard to stabilize the team, and after Babar Azam’s early departure, Hussain Talat gave a bit of hope by building a good partnership with Saim Ayub. However, once Hussain Talat got out and after Saim Ayub completed his fifty, the rest of the batting lineup crumbled like a house of cards.
Talking about the match stats, Quetta Gladiators’ captain Saud Shakeel scored 59 runs, which included four fours and two sixes. He was supported by Finn Allen, who also played a solid knock of 53 runs, hitting five fours and four sixes. Alongside them, Hassan Nawaz, Rilee Rossouw, and Kusal Mendis also contributed significantly, helping Quetta Gladiators post a total of 216 runs for the loss of just three wickets.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi opened with Babar Azam and Saim Ayub. Unfortunately, Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck in the very first match of PSL 10. Saim Ayub fought hard and scored a fifty, with decent support from Hussain Talat. However, after Saim Ayub’s dismissal, only two players, Hussain Talat and Mitchell Owen, managed to score 30+ runs, while six players were dismissed for zero.
