Sources suggest that Lahore Qalandars will retain Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf in the Platinum category. Peshawar Zalmi has placed Babar Azam and Saim Ayub in the Platinum category. This was expected as Saim Ayub’s international value has significantly increased. Surprisingly, Quetta Gladiators retained Mohammad Amir in the floating Platinum category despite his retirement. Sarfaraz Ahmed’s name, however, isn’t included.
For Islamabad United, captain Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and Naseem Shah are in the Platinum category. Similarly, Multan Sultans have placed their captain Mohammad Rizwan and Usama Mir in this category. There are reports suggesting that Multan’s Iftikhar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi are also being considered for Platinum, but this is still under review. As for Karachi Kings, they haven’t finalized any names for Platinum yet, so we’ll have to see what strategy they adopt.
Coming to foreign players, there’s been buzz about David Warner, Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow, Adil Rashid, and other top international players like Akeal Hosein and Shakib Al Hasan potentially joining the PSL draft. Efforts are underway to secure these top five players, and there’s hope that at least three or four will confirm their participation. However, their availability might clash with IPL commitments.
