PSL 11- Major Changes in Player Retention Rules
Many fans are asking how player retentions will work in the next season of the Pakistan Super League. According to early discussions, the retention system is expected to change, but nothing is officially finalized yet. PCB and franchise owners will meet to make the final decision.

Last season, teams could retain eight or nine players. That system allowed franchises to keep most of their core squads and shift players across different categories when needed. This year, however, the number is likely to be reduced to four per franchise.
