10 Bidders Have Qualified for the Team Auction on 8 January
According to the PCB, a total of 12 proposals were received from local and international bidders within the stipulated deadline. These proposals were reviewed over three days under a thorough and transparent evaluation process. Following the assessment, 10 bidders were declared technically qualified and have advanced to the next stage.
The qualified bidders will now participate in the auction on January 8, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, where franchise rights for the two new HBL PSL teams will be offered.
During the auction, successful bidders will be allowed to choose their franchise names from the available city options: Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad and Sialkot.
HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer welcomed the progress and congratulated the qualified bidders. He said the league appreciates the strong interest shown by both local and international investors and thanked those who could not submit proposals in time for their interest.
He added that the league is preparing for another major milestone as it moves toward the eagerly awaited auction. PCB officials said further details related to the auction process will be shared in due course.
The HBL Pakistan Super League has moved a step closer to expansion as the PCB Bid Committee has completed the technical evaluation of proposals submitted for the sale of two new franchises.
