The opening ceremony for PSL 2025 will take place on February 17th as the PSL Schedule is Announced and the final will be played on March 18th in Karachi National Stadium. Pakistan has many cricket stadiums, but only 4 popular stadiums will host PSL 2025 matches.

  • Multan Cricket Stadium
  • Gaddafi Stadium Lahore
  • Karachi National Stadium
  • Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, is a great stadium for PSL with 27000 Sitting Capacity. The people of Lahore show tremendous support for all cricket matches held at the stadium. If we look at all the matches played in PSL, it’s clear that Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore attracts the most people to watch the matches.

This year, the opening ceremony of PSL 2025 will be held at Gaddafi Stadium, and the first match will be between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United. Speaking of cricket matches, this year, a total of 9 matches will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, with Lahore Qalandars playing most of their matches at their home ground.

If we talk about the pitch, this stadium has a very good pitch for batting, which favors batsmen more. As a result, we get to see higher scores in this stadium.

Multan Cricket Stadium

Multan Cricket Stadium

Although Multan Cricket Stadium is another great stadium, PCB has been hosting its matches there for the past few years. Multan Cricket Stadium has proven to be a very good cricket stadium for PSL, and much credit goes to the people of Multan for supporting cricket so fervently. Seeing the immense support from the crowd, PCB had the opening ceremony at Multan Cricket Stadium a few years ago.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 30,000, which is almost always filled during matches. This ground is the home ground for Multan Sultans, and they play most of their initial matches at their home ground, often winning most of them. Looking at last year, Multan Sultans played a total of five matches at Multan Cricket Stadium, winning four of them convincingly.

Talking about the pitch, Multan Stadium has a very good batting-friendly pitch, which benefits batsmen greatly. It’s rare to see a bowling side dominate the batsmen on this pitch, resulting in high scores during night and day matches.

Karachi National Stadium

Karachi National Stadium

If we look at it, Karachi National Stadium is Pakistan’s largest stadium and hosts most of the PSL matches. The seating capacity of this cricket stadium is 35,000, and often, the PSL finals are held here. It’s the favorite stadium for Karachi Kings as it’s their home ground, and they prefer playing most of their initial PSL matches here.

However, when we look at their past record in PSL, Karachi Kings haven’t performed well on their home ground. Last year, Karachi Kings lost all their matches at their home ground, Karachi National Stadium. This year, PCB has hosted a total of 11 matches at this stadium.

In terms of pitch focus during PSL, Karachi National Stadium pitches are Slightly bowler-friendly. The pitch favors bowlers significantly, offering good swing for pace bowlers, resulting in more wickets falling. When it comes to the crowd, fewer people come to watch matches at Karachi Cricket Stadium, as seen in last year’s PSL matches.

There could be multiple reasons for this, but the reality is that the stadium is often not full during PSL matches, and the home team sometimes lacks the full support of their crowd, which can affect their performance.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

This year, PCB will host its 9 matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has excellent facilities for PSL, but its seating capacity of only 15,000 means that it doesn’t host the opening ceremony or final matches, nor does any team consider it their home ground. Peshawar Zalmi plays their matches in their Pindi cricket Stadium but doesn’t consider it their home ground.

In terms of the crowd, the stadium has good attendance because the people here strongly support PSL, and come to watch matches, especially Babar Azam playing for Peshawar Zalmi. Speaking of the pitch, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has a fast and bouncy pitch, which benefits fast bowlers greatly. Looking at past matches, teams with a strong bowling lineup often perform well at this stadium and win matches.
