Ali Tareen Approaches Mohsin Naqvi to Improve PSL & Resove Issues

Multan Sultans franchise owner Ali Khan Tareen shared on X a letter sent to Mohsin Naqvi, in which he proposed four key points. The purpose of this letter was to make the Pakistan Super League better and to resolve the ongoing issues between Multan Sultans and the PCB.

On X, Ali Khan Tareen stated that although he greatly enjoyed tearing up the notice, since the PSL is a national asset, he wants to see it improved further. He also expressed his wish that the issues between his franchise and the PCB be resolved as soon as possible. This message was sent directly to Mohsin Naqvi.

In his tweet on X. Said, “Even though tearing the notice was quite satisfying, it’s time to move forward. In recognition of the PSL as a national asset, we’re putting grievances aside and aiming for a fresh relationship with the board. One built on transparency, cooperation and trust. To that end, I’ve written to the PCB Chairman, proposing four key reforms to strengthen how the PSL is managed.”

Four Key Points of the Letter

  1. Formal franchise representation across all PSL committees and working groups so decisions on scheduling, ticketing, marketing, player affairs, and match day operations reflect the full set of stakeholders.
  2. A defined role for franchises in hiring key PSL personnel contributing from job scoping to vetting and final selection, to ensure appointments are credible and made on merit.
  3. Creation of a professional, depoliticized management structure for the league with clearly defined departments and an empowered executive team, rather than a centralized, personality‑driven setup.
  4. A standing system of regular, minute reporting from PSL management to franchises, monthly meetings, shared agendas, tracked action points to hardwire accountability.
