Faisalabad to Host PSL 11 Matches

One of the questions I’ve been asked the most is whether PSL matches will be held in Faisalabad or not. International cricket has already returned to Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium. South Africa will soon play three ODIs there.

Currently, PSL matches are played in Multan, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi, four venues in total. Now, a fifth venue is being added and that is Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

If Faisalabad gets its own PSL team, four of its matches will be played at its home ground, Iqbal Stadium. Preparations for this are already underway.

According to reports, official requests have been sent to the district government and stadium management to begin preparations for hosting PSL games once the current international series concludes.

Renovation work will also be carried out, such as upgrading stands, improving seating, and enhancing facilities. The Javed Miandad enclosure will also be renovated, which I’ll show you in an upcoming video.

So, as of now, the confirmed information is that Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, will host eight PSL matches.

Preparations are being made not only for the PSL but also for future home series, possibly the upcoming Australia tour matches. PCB might even consider buying Iqbal Stadium permanently; discussions about that are ongoing as well.
