Karachi Kings is one of the original teams of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The franchise is owned by Salman Iqbal, the owner of the ARY Group. Karachi Kings have witnessed many ups and downs throughout their PSL journey. Although they managed to win one PSL title, their overall performances have not been very consistent.

Karachi Kings Franchise Owner and Value

Let’s talk about the franchise value, performance, brand ambassadors, and all the captains who have led this team. Karachi Kings was purchased by the ARY Group’s Salman Iqbal during the inaugural season of the PSL.

At that time, the franchise value of Karachi Kings was $26 million, and it was bought on a 10-year contract worth 10 billion. In December 2025, the contracts of all franchises, including Karachi Kings, will be renewed, and a new franchise value will be revealed.

Karachi Kings All Captains

Over the years, Karachi Kings has seen multiple captains due to its fluctuating performances. Until 2020, Imad Wasim served as the team’s captain.

After him, Babar Azam was appointed captain in 2022. Shan Masood led the team until PSL 9 in 2024. In 2025, David Warner took over as captain. Under Imad Wasim’s captaincy, Karachi Kings won their first and only PSL title.

Looking at the overall PSL record, Karachi Kings have not delivered any particularly outstanding performances, winning only one title so far. In 2022, they won only one match and lost nine, finishing last in the points table.

In 2023, they won three matches and lost seven, getting eliminated in the group stage. In 2024, they won four matches and lost six, missing the playoffs once again. In 2025, Karachi Kings played 10 matches, won six, and lost four. They finished third on the points table with 12 points and qualified for the semifinals.
