Multan Sultans Franchise Owner and Value
Multan Sultans joined the PSL in 2017 for the first time. Initially, the team was purchased by Schon Properties, but in 2018, the PCB terminated its contract due to payment defaults.
After that, the franchise made a comeback when Alamgir Khan Tareen and Ali Tareen bought the team by placing the highest bid in 2018. It is important to note that Multan Sultans are currently the most expensive team in the PSL and pay the highest annual fee to the PCB.
When Alamgir Khan Tareen and Ali Tareen purchased the franchise, they signed an eight-year contract, buying the team for $5.2 million per year. They remain the owners of the franchise to this day.
Currently, however, there are some financial model disagreements between Ali Khan Tareen and the PCB, but it is expected that these issues will soon be resolved. Therefore, it is likely that Ali Khan Tareen will continue as the owner of Multan Sultans for PSL 11 as well.

Multan Sultans All Captains
Since its formation, Multan Sultans have had only three captains:
Shoaib Malik (2018 – 2019)
He was the team’s first captain when the franchise joined the PSL.
Shan Masood (2020)
Took over the captaincy in 2020 but could not deliver strong performances that season.
Mohammad Rizwan (2021 – Present)
Appointed as captain in 2021, and under his leadership, Multan Sultans won their first-ever PSL title the same year by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the final.
Since then, under Rizwan’s captaincy, Multan Sultans have reached the finals in 2022, 2023, and 2024, making them the only team to play four consecutive PSL finals, though they managed to win the title only once (in 2021).
As PSL 11 approaches, it is widely expected that Mohammad Rizwan, one of the most successful captains in PSL history, will continue to lead the Multan Sultans once again.
Multan Sultans PSL Records
In terms of records, Multan Sultans are among the most consistent teams in PSL history. They won their first and only title in 2021, and from 2021 to 2024, they qualified for the finals every single season but couldn’t secure another championship.
Despite that, their consistency and competitiveness have made them one of the strongest and most respected franchises in the Pakistan Super League.
