PCB Announced Auction Date for Two New Franchises

The PCB has announced that the auction for the two new HBL PSL franchise teams will take place on January 6, 2026. This will be a major step in the league’s expansion and its plan to grow its footprint across Pakistan. The two new teams will create new commercial, sporting and fan engagement opportunities.

The pool of shortlisted cities for possible franchise allocation includes Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit. The successful bidders will have the right to choose from these city names. Only technically qualified bidders will be invited to take part in the auction.

The HBL PSL, recognised as one of the leading T20 leagues in the world, continues to grow in popularity and commercial strength. The PCB and PSL management look forward to welcoming new stakeholders and further increasing the league’s impact on Pakistan cricket.
