PCB Decides to Sell Multan Sultans Immediately
The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to proceed with the immediate sale of Multan Sultans. A formal advertisement inviting bidders is expected within the next few days. Earlier, the PCB had stated that it would operate the franchise for PSL 11 itself.
Following the successful auction of Hyderabad and Sialkot, sources indicate that the PCB has begun paperwork for Multan Sultans’ bidding process and plans to hold an auction before the start of PSL 11. Interested parties will be invited to submit proposals, and former owner Ali Tareen will also be eligible to participate.
Strong investor interest was observed during the previous PSL auction, where ten qualified bidders competed but only two franchises were awarded. The PCB is expecting a significant financial response and intends for Multan Sultans to enter PSL 11 with new ownership. A formal announcement ceremony is also planned.
