Contrary to expectations of a 60-match season, PCB has decided that PSL 11 will consist of 44 matches. The league will not follow a double league format due to time constraints.

According to inside sources, PSL 11 will be played in three phases. In the first phase, all eight teams will compete in a single league format, playing one match against each other. This phase will include 28 matches.

In the second phase, teams ranked first to eighth will be divided into two groups of four. Each team will play one match against the others in its group, resulting in 12 matches.

The final phase will be the playoffs. The top two teams from each group will qualify. The group toppers will face each other in the qualifier, while the second placed teams will play the first eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will then face the loser of the qualifier. This phase will include three playoff matches and the final, completing the total of 44 matches.

PCB is expected to officially announce the seventh and eighth teams on 8 January 2026 at the Convention Centre Islamabad. Along with the team announcements, the full schedule and official format of PSL 11 will also be revealed.
