PSL 11 Captains – List of All Team Captains

The 11th season of PSL is set to begin on March 26th, and the complete squads and captains of all teams have been officially announced. In PSL 11, we will see some new captains, along with a few players who will be playing in the Pakistan Super League for the very first time and that too as captains.

PSL 11 Captains

In the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, two new teams are being added to PSL 11. The names and owners of these two new franchises will be officially announced in January. After that, fans will also get to see the team captains of both new franchises. Let’s take a look at which player each team has introduced as their captain this year.

Islamabad United Captain

This year, Shadab Khan has been chosen as the captain by Islamabad United and rightfully so. His performance has been outstanding. If we look at the previous season, Shadab Khan scored a total of 305 runs as an all-rounder and also took 14 wickets, all with an impressive strike rate of 142.52 and an economy rate of 8.5.

He is not only a top class spin bowler and a strong batsman, but also the best fielder in Islamabad United, often considered the best fielder in the entire PSL. With Shadab Khan in the squad, Islamabad United will surely gain a lot of confidence and aim to perform strongly in all aspects of the game.

Peshawar Zalmi Captain

This year as well, Babar Azam will represent Peshawar Zalmi as captain. Last year, Babar captained Peshawar Zalmi, but this year he initially wanted to play solely as a player. However, due to the trust and pressure from Peshawar Zalmi’s owner, Javed Afridi, Babar Azam has once again been appointed as the team’s captain.

Babar Azam is one of Pakistan’s top-class and leading batsmen, continuously setting new records. He is also the highest run-scorer in PSL history a record that doesn’t seem likely to be broken anytime soon. With his presence, Peshawar Zalmi becomes a very strong team.

Multan Sultans Captain

After the Multan Sultans’ contract was ended, Mohammad Rizwan, who has been the team’s captain for several seasons and has been a very successful leader, is now facing uncertainty over his captaincy.

It is being reported that Multan Sultans may be taken over by the PCB for one season and then auctioned again next year. Along with this, a new captain could be appointed for Multan Sultans.

Because of this situation, there is a strong possibility that in PSL 11, which is set to start on 26 March, Mohammad Rizwan may not be seen captaining Multan Sultans.

There is also a chance that one of the two new franchises being added to the PSL could pick Mohammad Rizwan and appoint him as their captain. A final decision on this matter is expected very soon.

Karachi Kings Captain

In the tenth edition of the PSL, David Warner was appointed captain of Karachi Kings, where he displayed excellent cricket and led his team to several important victories. Under his captaincy, Karachi Kings adopted a more attacking approach, which had a very positive impact on the team’s overall performance, and they managed to win some crucial matches.

Therefore, this year as well, the captaincy of Karachi Kings has been handed to David Warner, and he will be seen leading the team in PSL 11. There is also a possibility that he could guide his team to win the PSL 11 title.

Lahore Qalandars Captain

Lahore Qalandars have once again appointed Shaheen Shah Afridi as their captain this year and rightfully so. Shaheen has proven to be an excellent captain for the team in the past, having led Lahore Qalandars to two titles.

Although the team’s performance last season wasn’t particularly impressive, this year Lahore Qalandars appear to be in a much more attacking mode. Quetta Gladiators Captain

This year as well, Saud Shakeel has been chosen as the captain by Quetta Gladiators. Saud Shakeel is proving to be a good captain for Quetta Gladiators after Sarfaraz, and the team’s performance has been gradually improving. The squad also looks quite strong, and Saud Shakeel knows how to lead his team effectively. He will make every effort to claim the title this season.
