PSL Draft 2026 Date and Time
While Australia and Pakistan will be playing, that same day, PSL 11 will hold its draft. Yes, the PSL 2026 draft is expected on January 30. The draft will run for the entire day, and we will all be watching together to see who gets picked and by which team.
Reports are already coming in that PSL management has gone into full preparation mode. They want the draft to take place at the end of this month, and before that, the player registrations will be open. The process of registering and submitting names is about to begin as well. We will keep you updated on which team is targeting which player. As we mentioned earlier, Sialkot has eyes on certain names, and Hyderabad will be looking at others.
New Franchises in PSL 2026 Draft
Hyderabad will arrive with a different mindset altogether. They will likely bring in some surprising picks, especially given the strength of their cricket club setup already in the United States. Martin Guptill even tweeted that the Kingsmen group is set to do something new in the PSL. Now the question is: which players will Hyderabad bring in? It is going to be exciting, and the wait will not be long. This same month, the whole process will begin: who is coming, who is going, who is registering, and who is being signed directly.
Because this year, the PSL will also allow direct signings. Normally, you see Platinum, Gold, and Silver categories every season, but this time a direct signing option will also exist — just like Sydney Sixers directly signed Babar Azam. A similar protocol will apply here, with around 20 to 30 big players included. Names like Joe Root, Usman Khawaja, and possibly Glenn Maxwell or Kane Williamson are being mentioned. These are early reports, but we will update you as the registrations come in, and PCB will release official confirmations.
Direct signings & player registration
On the 30th, the draft itself will take place, and official announcements will come. Before that, direct signing will be completed. In two days, Sialkot is expected to reveal its full name, jersey, and logo in front of the media. They are saying just give us two days and we will show everything; there is nothing to worry about. Hyderabad will also reveal its plans soon.
There is a lot of news, a lot of movement, and we just have to follow it together. PSL is coming with a fresh look and a new beginning. There are eight teams now, and in earlier seasons, even with six teams, the draft took the whole day.
