PSL New Franchise Base Price Revealed

PSL New Franchise Base Price Revealed

The Pakistan Cricket Board has completed the valuation process for the two new PSL teams and has set the base price for their sale. The base price for each new franchise has been fixed at 4 million dollars per year, which means a ten year contract carries a base value of around forty million dollars. The bidding can rise above the base price depending on what the interested buyers are willing to offer.

Multan Sultans currently remain the most expensive franchise and are paying an annual fee of about 6.1 million dollars. The PCB has kept the new base price below this figure. Some bidders may offer five million or more, but that will depend on their financial capacity and how much value they see in owning a PSL team.

According to the analysis, the new franchises should avoid bidding higher than Multan Sultans’ yearly fee because Multan are already operating at a loss and cannot recover the full amount they pay each year. If the two new teams are sold at a lower rate, it increases their chances of running profitably.

The outcome will depend on the bidding process and the interest shown by potential buyers. The market will decide whether the two new franchises are sold at the base price or at a higher value.
