PSL 10: Draft Location and Timing Announced
The PSL 10 draft has reached its final stages, and the PCB has announced the final date, time, and location. After the conclusion of the Champions Trophy and other PCB matters, the board’s full focus is now on PSL. Preparations for the draft were completed in December, and this year, the draft will be held in Dubai instead of Pakistan.
Following the clash between the PSL and IPL, the PCB is making every effort to ensure the success of PSL and attract maximum attention to the league. To achieve this, it has been decided that the PSL 10 draft will take place in Dubai, aiming to draw more global focus. The draft is scheduled for January 11 at 5 PM, with player picks starting at 6 PM.
This year, several top-tier players have registered for the draft, and the PCB has already begun the registration process for foreign players as of December 12. Soon, local players will also be able to register and join PSL 10.
However, fewer English players will be in this year’s draft as the England Cricket Board (ECB) has restricted its players from participating in PSL and other leagues except for the IPL. The PCB is currently in talks with the ECB, and there is hope that English players may still participate in PSL 10.
Despite this, it is unlikely that big names like Steve Smith, David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Jonny Bairstow will feature in the draft. The main reason for this is PCB’s new directive allowing franchises to directly approach marquee players, negotiate prices, and include them in their teams without going through the draft. This approach allows franchises to strengthen their teams with high-profile players and increase their market value and competitiveness.

All eyes are now on which big players join which teams. The PSL 10 draft will officially kick off on January 11 at 5 PM, with PCB assuring that players will be paid higher amounts than before, cementing PSL’s position as the second-highest-paying cricket league in the world, right after the IPL.
